Unattended Shift Scheduler Automation Exercises
Give'em a Break's Unattended Automation features are specifically available to give management the ability to bypass the need to manually manage employee break operations throughout the workday shift. Depending on a company's business model and implementing daily operations to achieve their model, manual employee break management may be best suited to meet those goals. Conversely, a full and complete automation of employee break management may match the requirements and needs of other company's business model goals. Give'em a Break's Automatic Tracking Mode feature is used for unattended automation. In order for full and complete unattended automation to occur, these six required conditions must be met first: 1. The Automatically Start Automatic Tracking Mode setting must be activated. 2. The Restore Template before automatically starting setting must be activated. 3. The Automatically Stop Automatic Tracking Mode setting must be activated. 4. The Automatic Tracking Mode Pre-Check button feature must be completed on the main dashboard interface. 5. The Save Scheduler as Template menu item feature must be completed on the main dashboard interface. 6. The Automatic Tracking Mode feature must not be actively running on the main dashboard interface when the Start Time located in the Shift Hours section above lapses. Complete these example steps to configure Give'em a Break for full and complete unattended automation in Normal Mode: A. Prepare the main dashboard interface with all employee scheduled break assignments that will be invoked throughout the workday shift. B. Click the Pre-Check button on the main dashboard interface. If there are any conflicts, modify the employee assignments (Break Start Time, Relief Employee) to clear the discrepancies to complete the Pre-checking analysis requirement. C. Navigate to Tools on the menu then click the Save Scheduler as Template menu item to save the main dashboard interface with all employee scheduled assignments as the newest template. D. Navigate to Tools on the menu then Options... E. Set the Start Time in the Shift Hours settings to 8:00AM. F. Set the End Time in the Shift Hours settings to 5:00PM. G. Add a checkmark to the Activate setting located in the When the start time lapses above... option. H. Select the Automatically Start Automatic Tracking Mode setting to activate it. I. Select the Restore Template before automatically starting setting to activate it. J. Select the Automatically Stop Automatic Tracking Mode setting to activate it. K. Return to the main dashboard interface. At 8:00AM, Give'em a Break will automatically start Automatic Tracking Mode and process (start/end) all employee breaks throughout the workday shift. At 5:00PM, Give'em a Break will automatically stop Automatic Tracking Mode. At 8:00AM the next day, Give'em a Break will automatically restore the saved scheduler template. Give'em a Break will then immediately start Automatic Tracking Mode again and process (start/end) all employee breaks throughout the workday shift. *Since one or more employees end of shift job positions may be different from their start of shift job positions, the restore scheduler template feature ensures that all employee assignments have reverted to their start of shift job positions before the next workday starts again. The steps above are a depiction of how Give'em a Break's Unattended Automation will occur during actual employee break operations throughout the workday shift. Complete these steps below to experience a real-time quick example of how these features work together without having to actually wait for a 24 hour period to transpire... 1. Example. The current time is 9:50AM. 2. Set the Start Time in the Shift Hours section to 9:59AM. 3. Set the End Time in the Shift Hours section to 10:06AM. 4. Change Give'em a Break's main dashboard interface from Normal Mode to Preparation Mode. 5. Assign employee Break Start Times, Job Positions and Relief Employees. *Set the First, Lunch and Last Break Start times for all employees to start 2 minutes after each break. Example: First Break Start Time = 10:00AM. Lunch Break Start Time = 10:02AM. Last Break Start Time = 10:04AM. 6. Click the Pre-Check button to complete pre-checking. 7. Save the Scheduler as Template. 8. Do not start Automatic Tracking Mode. 9. At 9:59AM, Give'em a Break will automatically restore the scheduler template that was saved in step 7 above and then automatically start Automatic Tracking Mode. 10. At 10:00AM, Automatic Tracking Mode will start processing all employee breaks on the main dashboard interface. 11. At 10:05AM all employee breaks will complete. 12. At 10:06AM Give'em a Break will Automatically Stop Automatic Tracking Mode and revert to Manual Tracking Mode. 13. At 9:59AM the next day, Give'em a Break will automatically restore the scheduler template that was saved in step 7 above and then automatically start Automatic Tracking Mode again then complete steps 10, 11 and 12 again. As you've just experienced, Give'em a Break will automatically process all employee breaks throughout the workday shift. Give'em a Break will then turn off Automatic Tracking Mode for the remainder of the day. The next day, Give'em a Break will automatically restore the saved scheduler template (which essentially resets all employees assignments (job positions etc...)) in preparation for the new workday shift. Give'em a Break will then automatically start Automatic Tracking Mode again and process all employee breaks again. By using these three features together, Give'em a Break will function as a constant loop for employee break management and operate in unattended automation mode indefinitely until these features are deactivated. Here are other variations that can be configured for operational automation of employee breaks. -Automatically Start Automatic Tracking Mode only
In this configuration above, Give'em a Break will automatically start Automatic Tracking Mode at 8:00AM. Automatic Tracking Mode will continue to run indefinitely until you manually click the Stop button on the main dashboard interface or the computer is rebooted. Automatically Start Automatic Tracking Mode feature and Automatically Stop Automatic Tracking Mode feature only
In this configuration above, Give'em a Break will automatically start Automatic Tracking Mode at 8:00AM. At 5:00PM, Give'em a Break will automatically stop Automatic Tracking Mode and revert to Manual Tracking Mode. The next day, Give'em a Break will repeat these same functions again at 8:00AM and 5:00PM. *Since the Restore Template before automatically starting setting was not activated, the next day, Give'em a Break will automatically start processing employee breaks again with employees assigned to job positions that they were assigned to at the end of the previous day's shift. Example: Employee B was assigned to the Host job position at the beginning of the shift and Employee B was also assigned to the Cashier job position at the end of the shift. The next day, Employee B will start the shift at the Cashier job position because that was the last position that they were assigned to and the Restore Template before automatically starting setting was not used. -Automatically Stop Automatic Tracking Mode feature only
In this configuration above, Give'em a Break will not automatically start Automatic Tracking Mode at 8:00AM. Instead, the operator of Give'em a Break will manually start Automatic Tracking Mode at 8:00AM by clicking the Start button on the main dashboard interface. At 5:00PM, Give'em a Break will automatically stop Automatic Tracking Mode and revert to Manual Tracking Mode. The next day, Give'em a Break will not automatically start Automatic Tracking Mode at 8:00AM again. Instead, the operator of Give'em a Break will have to manually start Automatic Tracking Mode at 8:00AM again by clicking the Start button on the main dashboard interface....
